Castle Unicorn

Bed and Breakfast

Unusual Lodgings in Iowa

Moats, gargoyles, suits of armor and a tower. No castle would be complete without them.

Castle Unicorn Bed and Breakfast near Glenwood, IA has them all.

Built to resemble a German-styled caslte, the structure is made of brick and stone.

There are stained glass windows in every room, a long granite table in the medieval-looking dining hall and to top it all off-gold faucets.

Like King Arthur had gold faucets.

But that’s okay. He didn’t have real toilets either.

We wouldn’t want the castle to be tooauthentic!

There are 4 guest rooms. The King’s Quarters, the Queen’s Quarters and the lower priced Dukes and Duchesses rooms which share a bath.

The room to stay in is the Queen’s Quarters. It’s in the tower and has a spiral staircase to a private patio on top of the tower.

Cool!

Views from the castle include Iowa’s Loess Hills, a unique natural attraction. While there are other deposits of loess (meaning “windblown soil” and is pronounced luss) in the US, the only other place in the world where they are this high is in China. Some of the hills are over 200 feet above the valleys adjacent to them.

Only in Iowa can you stay in a castle at the edge of the tallest loess deposits in the US!

Castle Unicorn Bed and Breakfast is near Glenwood, IA. They are located at 57034 Deacon Road, Pacific Junction, IA.
