Haunted Story Inn
Nashville, Indiana
Get your butt pinched by a ghost at the haunted Story Inn!
Yeah.
Really.
The Blue Lady of the haunted Story Inn, in the old ghost town of Story about ten miles from Nashville,Indiana, seems to like to pinch butts. So, before you turn around and slug the person next to you, make sure it wasn’t them! It could be the flirty female ghost known as the Blue Lady. No one knows who she was, but the story is she was Dr. Story’s wife.
Story, Indiana was built in 1851 mostly by a guy named Dr. Story. The town thrived until 1929 when the Depression came along and the place pretty much shriveled up and died. The old General Store clung to a meager existence until finally closing in the early 1960s. The store was later converted to a restaurant and inn and went through several struggling owners.
Now here comes the cool part.
The town went up for auction in 1998.
The new owners have restored the old buildings, turning many of them into guest cottages. A few of them are really cool and unusual lodgings.
You can walk across a mini covered bridge to sleep in an old saw mill.

Or you can sleep in the loft of an old grain mill.
To get to your upstairs lodgings you have to go through the old mill itself, with Depression-era grain milling equipment, and climb a wooden staircase.
And for your unique bathing pleasure a 250 gallon horse trough is your bathtub!

Unusual lodgings in Story, Indiana?
You bet.
But here’s the best if you’re into haunted hotels!
The old General Store, complete with old gas pumps outside, has been converted into a gourmet restaurant downstairs (check out the creaky floor!) and four guest rooms upstairs. And there's a ghost, too!

It’s upstairs where the Blue Lady likes to flit and flirt most, especially in The Blue Lady Room.
Turn on the blue light to summon her and await her appearance.
She might show up in the mirror.
She may call your name.
Perhaps you’ll get a whiff of cherry tobacco smoke.
Or perhaps, the ultimate compliment from the Blue Lady ghost of the haunted Story Inn - you’ll get your butt pinched!!!!
According to the Hoosier Paranormal Research, the Blue Lady Room isn’t the most ghostly. It’s the Morrison Kelly room. In this room you can smell baby powder and hear strange noises.
However, just the idea of switching on a blue light to summon a ghost makes it more, well, more ghostly!!!
So, what’ll it be?
Which room will you choose at the haunted Story Inn?
The Blue Lady Room or the Morrison Kelly Room?
And be sure to add your ghost story to the guest book in your room. (Ask to see the other books stored in the attic – tons of ghost stories from guests like yourself!)
