In Georgia…

Yep! Don’t forget your camera!

300 plus kangaroos live at the Kangaroo Conservation Center in Dawsonville, Georgia. It is the largest collection of kangaroos outside of Australia.

Why Georgia?

Well, the climate at Dawsonville, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is a lot like the climate in the Australian Outback – not too hot, not too cold. Perfect for kangaroos.

There’s plenty to see and do at the Kangaroo Conservation Center.

First, there is an hour and half ride in a “KangaRanger” through the “Outback” where you can see kangaroos hopping about or relaxing in the fields.

After the tour, you can learn how to throw a boomerang, listen to a kookaburra, take a walk on the Aussie Walkabout trail or buy an Aboriginal didgeridoo from the gift shop.
