Lighthouse Accommodations in Maine
It’s a cool ride on a mailboat to get to these lighthouse accommodations in Maine.
The Keeper’s House Inn at Robinson Point Lighthouse Station is on Isle au Haut, ME. The boat ride is an adventure on its own, a forty-minute ride winding around the islands between Stonington, on Deer Island, and Isle au Haut.
It’s possible to just go for a day trip, but why not have the complete adventure? A cool ride on a mailboat and lighthouse accommodations in Maine for the night!
Three different facilities are offered to guests staying at the Keeper’s House Inn.
There is the Oil House originally used to store oil that burned in the lighthouse. It has been converted to a cozy little bungalow. A major highlight of these accommodations is the outdoor sun shower just off the deck.
Watch the local lobster fishermen pull their traps while taking a shower! Where else, but in Maine!!!
The Lighthouse Woodshed is for weekly rentals only. This old barn and storage building has been turned into a small cottage complete with a kitchen.
The general store is only a mile and a half away by bicycle. Or catch a ride in a small boat with the owners of Keeper’s House for even more of a New England style adventure.
The Garret is the room to stay in to get a better feel for true lighthouse accommodations in Maine. It’s the top floor of the Keeper’s house and overlooks the lighthouse tower.

There is very limited electricity at Keeper’s House Inn and at night, light is provided by candles, kerosene lamps and the glow from the lighthouse.
Whichever of the three accommodations you choose, this lighthouse adventure is all about relaxing and enjoying. Being lightkeeper for the night is not a part of these lighthouse lodgings.
Which, don’t get me wrong, being keeper for the night is a way cool adventure, too. However, if you don’t want any responsibilities and would rather spend your time exploring the remote island or just sitting and watching the boats go by, these are the lighthouse accommodations in Maine for you.
Open from late-May to Mid-October.
For rates and availability contact the Keeper's House Inn and Cottage Rental, Robinson Point Lighthouse Station, PO Box 26, Isle au Haut, ME 04645. Phone: (207) 460-0257
News Flash: Just read on the internet that the Keeper's House Inn is no longer renting out rooms. BUMMMER!!!!! They are still, however, renting out the Lighthouse Woodshed.
Since these lighthouse accommodations in Maine are open during the winter, bring your cross country skis and head out for a trip from their front steps. How’s that for a cool New England adventure? Cross country skiing from lighthouse lodgings!
There are three rooms at this replica lighthouse. One is in the tower itself. The other two are on the second floor of the main house. The tower room is the one you want of course! Gotta have the one in the lighthouse tower to make your lighthouse adventure totally complete!
Access to the room at the top of the lighthouse tower is (naturally) a winding staircase. With its 360 degree views, it’s a great place to sit and watch the sunrise and look out over the land and the bay surrounding these lighthouse accommodations.

These lighthouse accommodations in Maine were built in the 1940s. The building was never meant to be a working lighthouse, but has still become a prominent landmark for mariners.
There are 10 guest rooms in The Lighthouse at Sebasco Harbor Resort.
The top floor is a common room that is like a Victorian promenade deck. With windows all around, the views are spectacular.
