Location: 47 W. Broadway. Look for the traffic jams on Broadway.

  • Bar Harbor - Lulu lobster boat rides!

The Lulu is a traditional Downeast-style lobster boat. You get to experience the life of a lobster fisherman and take a look at the seals. They're used to lobster boats so they don't run away.

Ben and Bill's is at 66 Main St, Bar Harbor, ME.

  • Isle au Haut - Take a cool ride in a mailboat to get to these lighthouse lodgings on an island.

  • Monhegan Island - See the little fairy houses built of natural materials people have made for the island's tiny inhabitants.

    Are fairies even real?

    Does it matter?

Cathedral Woods is the best place to see the tiny little houses.

Monhegan Island is a small rocky island about 10 miles from the mainland. It is a center for fishing, a haven for artists, and a summer retreat for many people. There is a small village on the island, which is about 1.7 miles long by 0.7 miles wide, and most of it is undeveloped.

Fairy house on Monhegan Island, Maine. Well, except for the fairy houses like the one to the left!

The only way to get to Monhegan Island is by boat. If you don't have your own boat, there are ferries and mailboats.

The Laura B out of Port Clyde is the way to go for an authentic, Monhegan Island visit. She's been hauling passengers, freight and mail to the island for over 50 years. Reservations are advised, especially in the summer. Phone: 207-372-8848
