Out’n’about,Treehouse Treesort
Out’n’about is a Treehouse Treesort in Takilma, Oregon. It is home to the World Treehouse Association Conference. So you know there’s going to be lots of treehouses there. The place positively bristles with treehouses!
A few of the treehouses have full bathrooms, some of them a toilet and sink, and others all of the facilities are at ground level. But, hey, that’s part of the adventure, right?
And in one, the Treeroom Schoolhouse Suite, you can even take a bath in an antique claw-foot bathtub. How’s that for something not everyone gets to do? I mean, really. When was the last time you took a bath in one of those old comfortable claw-foot tubs? And in a treehouse even! Yeah! The Treeroom Schoolhouse Suite is their largest treehouse with plenty of room for the whole family and maybe even a few more. $200 for up to 4 people.
That’s the Serendipitree pictured above. The loft is all bed! $110 for two people.

At the Swiss Family complex, a kidroom is connected to the main treehouse by a hanging bridge. Cool! $160 for up to 4 people.
Treeloon looks like a saloon out of the Old West in front. You get to it from a swinging bridge. There’s a loft with lots of room for the kids. $120 for two people.
The Cavaltree Fort is a two-story treehouse. The second floor is built like a lookout tower. There is a Civil War-like tent on a platform beneath it, also with sleeping accommodations. $130 for up to 4 people.
How about two unusual lodgings at one time? The TreePee provides that – a teepee treehouse! $120 for up to 4 people.
Peacock Perch is a hideaway in the trees perfect for a couple looking for some privacy. $120 for two.
Their tallest tree house is 37 feet tall. It’s called the Treezebo and has canvas roll up windows. $170 for up to 4 people.
To get to the Treezebo you climb the Mountain View Treeway.
The Mountain View Treeway, left, is an Out’n’About adventure all on its own. There’s a spiral stairway to the first platform. That platform is connected to another one in another tree by another staircase. Then you take a ladder to a third platform and walk across a 90 foot long suspension bridge. At the fourth platform, you walk across a 45 foot long suspension bridge to the Treezebo.
Another tree house that is accessed by the Mountain View Treeway is the Forestree. It’s 35 feet off the ground, with a hoist for gear. And, (whew!) like in the Treezebo, there’s a toilet and sink so you don’t have to climb all the way down to the ground level to use the bathroom. Just to shower! $170 up to 4 people.

A balcony in the trees is a feature of the Balcontree. $120 for 2 people. $15 each extra guest per night.
For those of you that can’t stay in these unusual lodgings overnight, there are tours of the Treesort available. If a treehouse is occupied, you can’t see inside, but the Mountain View Treeway can still be experienced. Fun! They also have a Giant Zip Line. More fun!
If you’re into spas, the Deva Treetop Spa is located at Out’n’About Treesort. It’s the world’s first treetop spa!
